- Adsorb to bond/stick to the surface of a substance. Occurs on the surface only. No volume change on the adsorbent material.
- Absorb means to move right/enter into the substance-rather like sponge absorbs water. Occurs throughout the entire volume. The absorbent material may swell or increase in volume.
